(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Superb Internet (www.suberb.net) announced this week at HostingCon that it had partnered with security firm Commtouch (www.commtouch.com) to deploy a system for identifying and blocking outbound spam on Superb’s network.
Superb says outbound spam can create a range of serious problems for hosting providers, including increased costs and unhappy customers, as well as damage to the company’s reputation, even blacklisting of IP addresses by receiving service providers.
The Commtouch technology is integrated with Superb’s account management portal. The outbound spam protection tool lets the company track suspicious email messages and identify the senders, which are frequently unknowingly compromised customers. The company can then inform customers that have been compromised, or disconnect spammers.
